Do I need to have danced before?

- No experience needed for Beginner classes & Taster workshops.

What's the right class for me?

- No experience? Beginner.

- Know basics in 4-6 Ballroom & Latin dances?  Beyond Beginner.

- Danced for a few years? Progressive or Experienced.

Do I need a dance partner?

- Ideally yes - it's tricky to match people.

- Bring your partner, a friend or a relative (I have a mum/daughter partnership & the daughter leads.)

Is it a LGBTQ+ friendly space?

- Yes - same gender and mixed gender couples are equally welcome.

Do you switch partners around the class?

- No - as you usually want to learn with your own (dance) partner.

Do you stick to traditional lead/follow gender roles?

- Only if you, as dance partners, want to do so. Sometimes it's just a practical decision and to do with people's height.

- One person needs to lead and one person needs to follow but you could switch by dance if you really wanted to.

How many people are in a class, private lesson or wedding dance lesson?

- Classes & workshops restricted to maximum of 8-12 couples dependent on venue size. This allows for individual attention and experience of a social dance floor.

- Private lessons restricted to 1-2 couples.

- Wedding Dance lessons (not workshops) are for the wedding couple only as the choreography is specific to the first dance.

What should I wear?

- Wear something comfortable that doesn't restrict your movement,  jeans are perfectly acceptable.

What about shoes?

- Beginners don't need special shoes at the start.

- Wear smooth-soled shoes so that your feet don't stick to the floor.

- Wear supportive shoes - no back is dangerous.

- Wear a comfortable heel height. Not ballet pumps (too flat) & not wedge heels (too solid).

Do I need to practice at home?
